a festive linen Anna

Seeing Debbies gorgeous dress in this fabric I thought I’d do a post about the By Hand London Anna I made in the same red and green linen that I got from Addicted to Fabric here in Canberra.

Even though the pattern called for a floaty fabric it worked well with this quite solid linen. I do prefer all natural fabrics when its very hot and I love linen. These colours were perfect for christmas and I’ve worn the dresss a few times now. I did my usual FBA but even though this is my second Anna I somehow misjudged and ended up having to add some material to the back, eeww!

I hope the busyness of the print hides it somewhat, except to other sewers of course. Over the last few months I’ve become better at rescuing my sewing from what might have been failures previously . I like to make my own bias but I also like using the ready made ones. I thought this one was pretty and suited the fabric. It is also from Addicted to Fabric.

It’s been a good festive dress. Hope everyone is enjoying the holidays, sadly over for me now.

  2. Beautiful! I’m so glad you showed us your Anna in this fabric. I checked before and couldn’t find it. It is really lovely! And I think only someone who sews would notice the back amongst the flowers.

love to hear from you.................
