Watermelon linen Hawthorn in an English country garden

Not much sewing to show in this post, this is something I made earlier (last year in fact). The colours go rather well with this lovely English country gardentmp_8276-image774901123wpid-wp-1409152576739.jpegwpid-wp-1409152264381.jpegwpid-wp-1409152473249.jpeg

Pattern: Colette Hawthorn

Fabric: linen from Addicted to Fabric

Buttons: watermelon buttons from Lots of Buttons

Garden: Burghley House, Lincolnshire

Last few days in the UK and managed to pop in to Cath Kidston for a length of quintessentially English rose fabric,  furnishing weight, but probably be good for a skirt, and some buttons, just because, who could resist. I’m thinking a circle skirt, maybe the skirt from BHLs Flora, thoughts??

    • They are a bit cute, aren’t they. When I bought the linen and the colour was called watermelon I just had to have appropriate buttons. Took a bit of searching to find them. Thanks for, stopping by the blog!

  2. That looks like a dress I could wear. Beautiful color and gorgeous photos of the gardens. I haven’t been to England since 1986. I should definitely make another trip there. How’s the weather?

    • I really like this colour linen. The weathers been patchy, the sunshine for the day in the garden was glorious. I’m constantly amazed by all th soft green lawns, not a bindy in sight.

love to hear from you.................
