Making silk, Whitchurch mill

tmp_28303-image893427249Silk, one of my favorite fabrics.

Lovely Simon indulged me and we visited a silk mill. It was in the very picturesque Whitchurch in Hampshire. Fascinating to see the hanks of silk, the water wheel powered bobbin winding, and the weaving.

I didn’t purchase any lengths, rather exy and not quite my style, though very beautiful and works of art in their own right.
