c’mon safari with me

It’s jungle January! led into the wild by Anne of Pretty Grievences, a month long safari. A chance to indulge in that wonderful neutral, animal print. So lets go…..

This is a tried and true pattern for me, Simplicity 1653, a mock wrap dress for knits. This version has the capped sleeve, much more flattering than the flappy 70s-look version I made for the Tessuti challenge! The fabric, a rather slinky (dare I say) cat-like jersey, has been in my stash for ages. These guys have been around for a while too.

The twin needle was a breeze this time (pheew!), by using the appropriate needles (ball point jeresy) and also a double sided fuseable hemming tape. This helped hugely holding the hems, including the neckline hem,  in place and providing body and stability.Barbarajanemade jungle january dress hem

Anyone else heading to the jungle?
