One more mock wrap – Simplicity 1653

I’ve made this before, for Jungle January, for Tessuti’s jaywalk and for the Mad Men challenge. Getting my moneys worth from this pattern, for sure.

Simplicity 1653 is a mock wrap, so for this version I thought I’d eliminate the tie and sew the part that ties into the side seam. I like that it’s a bit less fussy, though it does reduce your ability to adjust the fit of the dress.Barbara Jane made

I got lazy with the neckline. I didn’t stay-stich! I did use wonder tape to stabilise the neck edges and the hems so that will probably serve the same function.wpid-wp-1425124392275.jpeg

It’s a really comfortable dress, mainly because of the lovely soft bamboo knit. It would be a great travelling dress because it’s pretty much wash and wear, no ironing needed. It was great to slip on after a day at the beach, ahh but back to work now 😕

Maybe that’s enough of the mock wrap, perhaps I should move on……
