Liesel and Co. knit top – quicker (and better) than shopping

Hello there. I thought I’d give this pattern a try after I saw Lara’s version.

It’s Liesel and Co’s maritime knit top. Have to say I’m impressed. As Lara says, a PDF pattern that is thoughtfully put together. Only a fraction the pain of many PDF’s.Barbara Jane made Liesel and Co. maritime knit top.jpeg

Another thing I really appreciated was that the instructions included a full-bust adjustment. No need to look up anything else, and nice and simply explained. Plus I think and FBA might just be a good thing for me, even in a stretch.Barbara Jane made Liesel and Co. maritime knit top.jpeg

I like the side vents, easy to do and well explained. I extended the sleeves to better suit winter.

A new top, quicker than driving to the shops, parking, purchasing and driving home again. Certainly better quality fabric.

The teal with interesting raised stitching/tucks, a remnant from Addicted 2 Fabric.

and then I made 2 more…….

The white, a lovely soft organic cotton, worn here with Tessuti Anita ponti pants and Tessuti Megan cardigan and ugg boots!Barbara Jane made Liesel and Co. knit top &Tessuti Megan cardigan.jpg

The charcoal and blue stripe with black sleeves, both merino, leftovers from two different Megan cardigans. I do love being able to use scraps.

I think I’ve found a new favorite t-shirt pattern and a new favorite pattern company. Have you tried any Liesel and Co. patterns?

PS Have a look at the gorgeous dress Sue made with fabric all the way from Maningrida.

  2. It’s not just the driving/parking/purchasing…there is the inevitable eye glazing over at seeing a hundred of the same thing! 🙂 I love the uniqueness of your first make! And the white organic cotton looks dreamy!

Thanks again for making my summer a happy dress kinda place!

  3. oohh, I am envious of your new lovely tops collection:-) especially like the first one – the fabric is very interesting! Definitely much better than driving to the store to buy some (more fun too I am sure:-)
I have two of the Lisette patterns from Butterick, I like the clean lines of this pattern company, and hope I can get to try the patterns before them get buried deeper in the ever-growing pattern stash, haha.

    • Thanks Jean! I was really impressed with the pattern and would like to try more of theres. And another beach pic that one at Nuggan Point, you probably know it, I hadn’t been before, very beautiful.

  4. Lovely tops and what a great pattern. Another one I might need to buy, sigh :). I have some identical fabric to your blue (except mine is rust coloured) and I’ve been wondering what to do with it, now you’ve inspired me!
