BJmade! Tessuti Gabby dress for the beach

I thought I’d give Tessuti’s Gabby dress a try.

Sometimes you need a beach cover-up that covers the shoulders.

Well, maybe that’s always needed.wpid-wp-1440811835928.jpeg

Anyway I thought Tessuti’s Gabby dress might fit the bill. Gabby is a loose fit dress with a short sleeve and a nice A-line flare. It has 2 views, the first with a contrast hem panel. As I was planning to slip it on over bathers I thought I could get away with shorter than I’d wear for everyday, so made it without the contrast hem panel.

The fabric is 100% cotton, essential for the  beach, in my opinion and hard to find in RTW. Why are so many beach clothes made in icky sticky poly?

And then, of course, there’s the pom poms, essential, for the beach, don’t you think? The seventies are back, yeah baby.

See also Gabrielle wearing Gabby, Melanie’s and Elizabeth who has added a belt.

Do you have a favourite beach cover-up, pattern or fabric?

Do you do the pom poms?

Happy stitching! 🌞🌊🏄🍹

    • Hi Christine, i tried to leave a comment on your blog but couldnt get through the multiple spam filters. Anyway very nice hoody, will be perfect to slip on after some time in the water. The pattern looks perfect and I really like the hood lining, such a pretty colour with the white.
